The Kelray ID-40 combines 4,000W of infrared heat with the flexibility of two independently switched elements when suitably wired. Its 1,010 mm body brings the dual-element Ideal Series design to outdoor dining and lounge settings, with 316 stainless steel construction and replaceable elements for ongoing service.

Choose the heat setting that suits the moment

With separate switching, the ID-40 can run one 2,000W element or both for 4,000W total output. That gives you two operating levels to discuss when planning controls for your dining table, lounge arrangement or hospitality seating zone.

The ID-40 and single-element I-40 have the same total wattage, but different body lengths, element arrangements and coverage estimates. The ID-40 also shares its 1,010 mm length with the higher-output ID-50. These are layout and control choices, so the best fit depends on how and where you want the warmth.

Infrared heat warms people and surfaces in its path. Position the heater over or toward the area you actually use. Wind, mounting height and the openness of the space affect comfort and coverage.

208V elements are available for suitable installations. Confirm the correct element and electrical configuration with Kelray before ordering for a 208V supply.

Plan your installation

Tell us about your seating layout, preferred control arrangement, area dimensions, mounting height and open sides, and send a photo. We will help position the ID-40 and plan its separate-element switching. Coverage is a planning estimate, not a guaranteed temperature or a substitute for the installation clearances.

Keep the heater's long axis horizontal. Flush mounting requires the purpose-designed recess kit and a firebox rated for at least one hour. Your electrician must follow the installation manual and local requirements for wiring, protection and clearances. Confirm mounting height with Kelray before installation.

With suitable wiring and separate switching, the two elements can provide half- or full-power operation. Discuss controls and mounting accessories when planning your system.
